STEP 6: Tell all of your friends - the quicker we make this happen, the quicker the money gets to these charities to help the animals that need it!!

Why am I doing this?

So many reasons.  One is because I look at my crazy adorable dog, Buffy, every day and am thankful that she's my little personal comedian, snuggler, warming blanket, partner in crime, play date, and more. She came to me in a time when I needed love - and boy oh boy has she ever brought it! She loves everyone in fact. She's by far the most social pup I've ever known. All a person has to do is look at her and her little butt starts wiggling so much she can barely walk properly.

Another reason is my previous dog, Josie. She left this world far too early (6.5 years old) from Colon Cancer. When she was diagnosed, I was told a dog with this level of Cancer would last no more than 6
months. I only remember dropping the phone at that point. But, Josie was a tough, gorgeous Labrador/German Sheppard and she was around for 9 months! Take that Cancer! There were a LOT of really bad days, but then she'd surprise me and want to run around and play.

The day I finally made the hardest choice I've ever had to make was the day I decided to go home and stay up with her all night only to take her to the vet to let her go quietly. But, in normal Josie fashion, she wouldn't let me go through the heartbreak of saying good bye for hours - when I arrived home that day, I ran up to see her.  She was laying down to rest, then raised her head to look at me with those big brown eyes full of love and then she lowered her beautiful head, closed her eyes and released her last breath.

That was August 2003 and writing about it just now, having those memories flash through my mind almost crippled me. Watching her leave me like that without giving me that last night kills me. But, I know now that she did it for me; she knew how heartbreaking that night and morning would have been for me.  She saved me from that.

My love for animals, like many people, is tremendous.  They are fabulous little creatures and we need to keep them safe and help those who are really doing wonderful work with/for them.
